FEATURED PROJECTS
Gran Cielo Park : Bozeman, MT
5-Acre Neighborhood Park
Gran Cielo Park is the vibrant heart of a diverse new residential community in Bozeman, Montana. Completed before the surrounding homes, the park immediately added value for the developer and created a strong sense of place that helped the neighborhood sell out quickly.
Guiding the project from master planning through construction, our team transformed a flat, unremarkable site into an engaging, rolling landscape anchored by iconic custom features: a park shelter, a distinctive pedestrian bridge, and a welcoming entry water feature.
Noteworthy amenities include:
Bozeman’s first paved pump track
Rock-climbing boulders, starter slackline, and skating-inspired play features
Ping-pong and bean-bag-toss areas for all-age social play
Tree-lined meandering paths, sledding hill, and flexible lawn spaces
Traditional playground with swings, slides, and climbers
More than a typical neighborhood park, Gran Cielo has become a beloved community destination that fosters neighborly connection, celebrates Bozeman’s active outdoor lifestyle, and provides lasting social and economic value to the surrounding development.
Silver Bow Creek Conservation Area : Butte, MT
The Silver Bow Creek Conservation Area represents the final component of a complex environmental remediation project in the heart of Butte, Montana. Over 100 years of underground and open pit mining operations resulted in contamination of soil, surface water, and groundwater. Remediation actions have been on-going across the Butte Hill for many years and the final phase of intensive remediation work is poised to start soon. This Master Plan for the Silver Bow Creek Conservation Area is a product of community visioning sessions and workshops coupled with oversight from the Environmental Protection Agency, the Montana Department of Environmental Quality, and other agencies. This Master Plan has been developed to prioritize community uses, develop standardization across all project sites, and incorporate sustainability and longevity in design choices. The recommendations within this Master Plan are a guide for the next phases of design and development of the Silver Bow Creek Conservation Area. They identify areas of community input and focus with the goal of accomplishing a project that integrates the final remedy with a community area that ultimately benefits the end users – the citizens of Butte.
Billings Reservoir & Recreation Area : Billings, MT
Currently in design, the Billings Reservoir & Recreation Area will transform two former gravel pits into a 300-acre public destination on Billings’ west end. This project will secure the city’s water future with twin reservoirs designed to provide up to 40 days of emergency supply and triple the city’s population capacity under existing water rights.
The plan features a greenway with trails, a connection to Billings' broader trail system, boardwalks, ADA-accessible fishing piers, a sand beach swimming area, shade shelters, restored prairie, wetlands, picnic areas, and an event pavilion. Native habitat restoration will support local wildlife, while outdoor classrooms and interpretive elements will offer hands-on learning opportunities focused on water security and ecology.
This innovative project will reclaim a post-industrial landscape to benefit both the community and the environment, providing Billings with a vibrant year-round destination for recreation, education, gathering, and connection.
Sheepherder Square : Big Timber, MT
Sheepherder Square is a dynamic gathering space at the heart of Big Timber, designed to enhance the quality of life for all ages and enrich the fabric of the community. Located on the historic site of the former Sweet Grass County High School, the Square honors the town’s heritage while looking to the future.
Conceived as an open-air “living room without walls,” Sheepherder Square stimulates economic prosperity by drawing people downtown and establishing Big Timber as a vibrant destination for arts, culture, history, and entertainment. The inviting Memorial Walk and flexible spaces foster meaningful connections, daily interactions, and community celebrations throughout the year.
By weaving together local stories and welcoming people of all generations, Sheepherder Square will be a source of pride and a lasting legacy for Big Timber.
